Happy Valentine's Day

Celebrating 16 years of Stupid Cupid

Here is a picture of the Valentine's cake that i baked. It is delicious and i know it's heavy duty because Jens could only eat 2 slices. Jens loves loves loves cake !!!

When the doctor first gave Jens his Parkinson's medicine, the doctor told Jens that one of the negative side affects of the medicine is that it will give him bad dreams. And sure enough - that night Jens dreamt that he bumped into a baker on the busy city streets, causing the baker to drop his 7 layer cake. The baker was pissed so Jens ran and hid behind a building. He then carefully stuck his head out from around the corner to see if the baker was gone. He was and so Jens quickly ran to the cake on the sidewalk and starting eating it.

So it is a heavy duty cake - filled with fruit, port wine, butter, oil, fat, grease, cream, sugar and chemicals - just the way a cake should be :) And of course along with the cake we did cards, candles and flowers.

Hope your Valentine's Day is happy and filled with heavy duty cake.

Hugs and Kisses -
Eddie

Finger Lickin' Good

Remember i said that the Cock-man lost the case and would have to pay court fees of 9,000 Kr. - and remember i said that i thought the price was rather cheap for loosing a court case and that i was a bit worried because i that we would also get a notice that we would have to pay for our part of the case even though we were told that "looser pays all"?
Well...............
The phone rang a few days ago and it was our lawyer. He said to come on down and get a copy of the final report if we want to read the judge's final and official judgement of the case. "Come and get your copy of the decision now because i go on vacation tomorrow", the lawyer said. So Jens hopped on his bike and rode to the lawyer's office. As he handed Jens an envelope with the papers inside, the lawyer said to Jens, "my wife and i would gladly accept an arrangement". Jens looked like a big question mark. "Just read the papers and you will understand", said the lawyer to Jens' confused look.
Jens peddled home and he read the papers to me. The lawyer had included a French recipe to a countryside dish made of rooster. We had a good laugh of that and continued to read the judgement. Which is, as you know, that the cock man has to get rid of his bird within 14 days - that's today folks. So tomorrow it should be cock-a-doodle-do free. And he had to promise not to get a replacement cock. But to our very big surprise he does not have to pay 9,000 kr. - he has to pay 19,000 kr. That's
nineteen thousand crowns! (approx. $3,300) ohmigod - he really is a looser! And we are laughing all the way to his bank.

The Sky is Falling - The Sky is Falling

"The sky is falling" - The sky is falling" cried Chicken Little. But come next Monday, Chicken Little wont be making a peep - much less a cock-a-doodle-doo.

Just when we thought it was all over, our sky was falling too. Little by little the ceiling in the living room started making it's way south - to the carpet. We actually got to the point where we stopped having guest over for fear of the ceiling crashing down upon guest's heads. We even got a bit nervous for ourselves while watching TV on the sofa - wondering if the ceiling would fall upon us and knock us unconscious while watching "Joey" as if that alone won't make us unconscious.

We moved all the furniture out of the living room and computer area so that the carpenters could get to the ceiling without any hindrance. They said it wasn't necessary but for fear of getting dust and rock wool into the computer and sofa's, we decided to take all of the furniture out of the room. We thought the ceiling falling was bad enough but when we saw black circles on the carpet showing our everyday paths of walking, we knew we had to rent a steam cleaner and get cracking!

The carpenters came and worked their magic on the ceiling. Then the following day we cleaned the carpet, let it dry and started in on the walls with filling holes and slapping up fiberglass felt on the walls and then paint the whole schmear. And i must say.... it looks great.
